My Square hosts a variety of theme nights has just added another spectacular one, the Fresh Catch night that happen every Thursday from 7 .00 PM go 10.30 PM under the expert supervision of Executive Chef Rene Johari.

As we made our way up to My Square, anticipation hung in the air, heightened by the tantalizing aromas wafting from the restaurant door and seeing Chef Rene himself at the grill.
Fresh Catch at DoubleTree by Hilton offers a vibrant atmosphere that adds to the overall experience. za lady playing the saxophone walks around and the music sets the mood, creating a lively backdrop for diners to enjoy as they savour each bite.

Every Thursday night, My Square transforms into a seafood lover’s paradise with their Fresh Catch theme. Drawing inspiration from the bountiful waters of the Arabian Gulf, the culinary team curates a feast that celebrates the freshest catches of the day.
From succulent prawns the freshest lobsters and a variety of fish, squid, you name it and its there carefully selected to tantalize the taste buds and leave a lasting impression.
If you think the Fresh Catch night is all about seafood you will be pleasantly surprised to know they had a huge selection of non seafood items as well, from chicken wings, momos, spring rolls and more.
Then you have a variety of flavored rice, Thai Curry, mash potastoes and much more, just the salad section could be more than a meal going by the massive variety of sauces and dressings on hand
The Culinary Journey
As avid food enthusiasts, we were delighted to embark on a culinary journey like no other. The array of seafood on offer was nothing short of impressive, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to quality and innovation.
Each guest has an option to choose half a kilo of their favourite seafood and then Chef Rene will cook it to your taste and even recommend some additions or sauces that will enhance the flavours.
Once you place your order moving on and there is a tray with freshly baked focaccia bread with a bowl of the most amazing herbed butter that you can pour over the bread or use it as a dip for your lobster like we did.
The restaurant is shaped kind of in an L shape and the buffet runs down one side of it all the way to the end, the variety is huge and makes this a great value for money option.
Wrapped around the outside is a long, covered terrace that is the perfect place to spend your evening with friends and loved ones.
We head back to our table which has our names neatly printed on little placards and find the resident mixologist, Aaditya, waiting with his fully loaded drinks trolley ready to mix us the signature cocktails of the night which are Negroni and his special Martinis while we enjoy the soothing sounds of the saxophone being played by a lovely lady walking around the room.
We start with the negroni which is an absolute delight and the perfect cocktail to set the tone for the night. Aaditya proceeds to mix his version of the classic martini which he does two ways one slightly on the sweet side and both were amazing, We are happy to confirm Aaditya is an expert and will be going places soon.
Soon our seafood platters arrive brimming with the lobsters and shrimp that we had chosen earlier and the Chef had prepared to perfection, each bite was a symphony of gloriouis flavors.
Soon we are stuffed and its time to leave so we head off to the dessert station all ther way the end of the buffet and try the desserts, a variety of neat little cakes await along with fresh cut fruit and ice cream as well, we wish we had see these sooner
While every dish was a standout in its own right, there were certain highlights that left an indelible mark on our palates. Before diving into the seafood extravaganza, we were greeted by a charming drinks trolley serving signature Negronis and Martinis, expertly crafted by the talented mixologists. Sipping on these refreshing libations set the perfect tone for the evening ahead.
To accompany our drinks, we were presented with freshly baked focaccia bread, accompanied by a decadent garlic herb butter for drizzling. The combination of warm, pillowy bread and aromatic butter was a delightful prelude to the seafood feast that awaited us.
Moving on to the starters, we were spoiled for choice with a huge array of salads and appetizers. The seafood soup, rich and flavourful, served as a comforting prelude to the main event. Each spoonful was a symphony of ocean flavours, warming us from the inside out.
As the pièce de résistance, each person gets to choose a half kilo of fresh seafood from the impressive display. With options ranging from two types of lobsters to succulent crabs, plump shrimp, and an assortment of fish varieties, the selection was unparalleled.
Chef Rene, with his expert culinary skills, offered to cook the chosen seafood to our taste preferences or suggest dishes that he knew would perfectly complement the freshness of the ingredients.
From the moment we arrived to the final bite, the Fresh Catch night exceeded all expectations and left us thoroughly impressed. Without a doubt, it’s a culinary adventure that deserves top honours.
